The parts.
The steps below follow Structure+ 1.2.0. The video may show an earlier version, so a panel can look slightly different.
- Truss Base: a base plate under each leg.
- Straight Truss with Direction Z for the legs, and X or Y for the beam.
- Corner Block at the top of each leg. While running Straight Truss, hold Alt and click a port to place one.
Placing truss.
One way to build the goal post: a Truss Base, the first upright, a Corner Block, the beam, a second Corner Block, then the second upright down from that block’s downward-facing port, with a Truss Base under it.
- Choose a part from the Truss tab and set its options in the palette. For Straight Truss that is Length, Direction, System and Size, and you can choose them before the first click.
- Click a port on existing truss, or a starting point in space. Truss Base and Corner Block are placed by that click; Straight Truss is anchored there.
- For Straight Truss, check the Length and Direction, move to either side if the run is free, and click again to place it.
- Placement carries on from the part you just placed. Press Esc to finish the run.
Lengths are stocked from 0.5 to 4.0 m, so a beam longer than 4 m is built from two or more pieces. Hover the face of a part, not its middle: the port under the cursor is what the new part attaches to.
